Bill McKibben is the author of a new book on clean energy, Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization. He’s the founder of Sun Day, a day of action planned for September 21, 2025, to celebrate the power of clean energy. He’s also the founder of Third Act, which organizes people over the age of 60 for action on climate and justice, and the founder of 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign. In 2014 he was awarded the Right Livelihood Prize, sometimes called the "alternative Nobel," in the Swedish Parliament. He's also won the Gandhi Peace Award, and honorary degrees from 19 colleges and universities. He’s written more than a dozen books, including The End of Nature, Deep Economy, and Falter, and has been a contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and Rolling Stone.
