Amruta Khanolkar is a senior manager at New Buildings Institute, a Portland, Oregon–based nonprofit that pushes for better buildings that achieve zero energy, zero carbon and beyond. She focuses on analyzing building performance and developing tools that advance energy codes and policies. She has technical expertise in electrification, demand-response management and net-zero energy design. Khanolkar spent the past three years managing a national initiative to shift water heating to low-carbon solutions and is now focused on advancing emerging technologies.
